Matt and Evie have left Summer Bay

Image result for home and away Matt and Evie weddingHome and away aired an emotional episode last night as Matt, Evie and Ellie left the bay for good. Evie got a job in Vietnam and Matt agreed to leave too, it took some convincing but Matt's sister Ellie eventually came around. This comes just one day after the much-loved couple tied the knot in (one of the only weddings to not have something go wrong) After saying a sad goodbye to the Summer Bay locals, Leah discovered that Zac cheated on her with his editor Sam. She was saddened to discover that Matt knew about the one-night-stand but chose not to tell Leah. At this point, it was touch-and-go whether or not they would leave as Evie ordered that Matt needed to make amends with Leah otherwise, they wouldn't go. Fortunately for them, Leah forgave Matt and they shared a goodbye hug. They then left and departed the bay forever... Philippa Northeast and Alec Snow (Who play Evie and Matt in the Channel 7 soap) have spoke out over their exits, saying that they'll miss working in such a friendly place. They have both starred in the show since 2013, and didn't waste much time getting involved in the drama. Alec and Philippa are both incredible actors and we wish them the best of luck for the future.

Home and away has been doing a storyline since February about who should get custody of Luc Ashford, following the tragic demise of Billie Ashford. Three people went for custody: VJ Patterson, who was Billie's husband, who Billie wanted to have custody of Luc. Billie's brother Ash and Irene Roberts. Last month, VJ shook Luc's cot and threw a mug across the room because he was very stressed. Can VJ save John from jail?

Monday night's episode will see John Palmer face court after starting the bushfire last December that led to the death of Billie Ashford. John was under the influence of a brain tumour and had no recollection of what he was doing, the tumour was successfully removed. Last month, we saw the return of Morag Bellingham, returning in the bay to defend John in court in the hope to spare him a jail sentence. He was previously urged to plead guilty and serve only two years or take the risk at the chance that he could be spared jail or go to jail for ten years! He decided to plead not guilty, much to the relief of his wife, Marilyn. However, the trial might not go as smoothly as they had hoped. The trial doesn't go that well at the start when Dr Bernice Chung takes the stand and protests that John fits the profile of a serial arsonist and is still a huge threat to the community.
