Six characters who might meet their markers next

Image result for home and away johnThis article is only based on assumptions and what we can see from certain storylines and people who are set to leave the show. None of the following assumptions have been confirmed in any way. They are only theories!

With Home and Away averaging about three deaths a year, they have only killed off one character in 2017 so far (Billie Ashford) Which means that there could be more deaths and exits to expect later in the year. Take a look at our theories below as who may be next to meet their marker...

1: John Palmer
John didn't have many storylines in early 2016 but later on in the year, he began to take centre stage and in September, he hit his head on the deck of a boat and was told he had a bleed on the brain. In December, he started to light fires around the bay. The most memorable one was the bushfire that claimed the life of Billie Ashford. Next week will see Kat Chapman uncover John as the dangerous serial arsonist as he prepares to light another fire. He is supposedly stopped by Kat and Alf Stewart. But right after this, he collapses and is rushed to hospital, where his wife Marilyn is told he might not pull through. It looks like he does as there are spoiler pictures where he is stood outside court awaiting trial, which sees the return of popular character Morag Bellingham for a short stint back in the show. But with John's condition seemingly getting worse, will he end up falling victim to his condition?

2: Matt Page
Matt Page is apparently set to leave summer bay with his girlfriend Evelyn McGuire. So it would make sense if Home and away killed him off as a way to leave the show. And lets not forget that he is the boyfriend of Evelyn! It is fair to say that she attracts drama (The Plane Crash, The bushfire e.t.c) Although it would be heartbreaking to see Evie lose someone else that she loves, could Matt fall victim to Home and away 2017?

3: Zac McGuire
Zac was also kept out of most storylines in 2016 apart from serving a few weeks in prison after he was wrongfully accused of murdering Charlotte King. And in the Autumn, he was having marriage troubles with Leah Patterson due to him spending too much time at work and in November, he was trying to get his book published but his editor Sam tried seduce him on multiple occasions. Leah was convinced he was having an affair and, ironically, that made him grow closer to Sam. After the tragic death of Billie Ashford, he said he would call Sam if he needed to talk. Could this lead to a bigger storyline than just a love triangle between Sam, Zac and Leah? Could Sam become the soap's next villain? Let's not forget that Zac's time in the bay  is numbered anyway...

4: Hunter King
Another character who is set to leave the show is Hunter King. After the death of his mother Charlotte back in 2015, he was shown as quite angry throughout 2015-2016 even going as far as setting fire to Leah Patterson's house and stabbing Andy Barrett. He is also involved in a big love triangle storyline between him, Olivia and Mason Morgan. Hunter is set to leave the show later this year so could his exit air in a big 2017 season finale?

5: Brody Morgan
Brody Morgan was involved in the big 2016 Morgan witness protection secret and came close to death numerous times. We still don't know how he survived a plane crash and falling off a cliff and only got a broken leg... Whilst home and away isn't planning for Brody to leave the show any time soon, he is supposed to be involved in a drugs storyline and a video emerged of Brody escaping rehab. Could the drugs storyline spark a shock exit in the bay?

6: Phoebe Nicholson
It's another character who is set to leave the bay. She doesn't seem to be involved in any storylines at the moment, apart from grieving with the tragic loss of her friend Billie Ashford. Also, she is in a relationship with Justin Morgan and whilst the dangerous drugs syndicate is locked up, could they escape and take revenge one of the people who helped the Morgans and someone who Justin really cares about? Lets hope not, Phoebe is one of the most popular characters in the bay...

Home and away has been doing a storyline since February about who should get custody of Luc Ashford, following the tragic demise of Billie Ashford. Three people went for custody: VJ Patterson, who was Billie's husband, who Billie wanted to have custody of Luc. Billie's brother Ash and Irene Roberts. Last month, VJ shook Luc's cot and threw a mug across the room because he was very stressed. Can VJ save John from jail?

Monday night's episode will see John Palmer face court after starting the bushfire last December that led to the death of Billie Ashford. John was under the influence of a brain tumour and had no recollection of what he was doing, the tumour was successfully removed. Last month, we saw the return of Morag Bellingham, returning in the bay to defend John in court in the hope to spare him a jail sentence. He was previously urged to plead guilty and serve only two years or take the risk at the chance that he could be spared jail or go to jail for ten years! He decided to plead not guilty, much to the relief of his wife, Marilyn. However, the trial might not go as smoothly as they had hoped. The trial doesn't go that well at the start when Dr Bernice Chung takes the stand and protests that John fits the profile of a serial arsonist and is still a huge threat to the community. How the departing characters might leave

It's no secret that 2017 will see many fan favourites depart. But the question is: How will they be leaving? Below there are a bunch of theories and rumours that could explain there exits.
