Home and Away 2016 - 2017

Hi! Welcome to my blog. Here I will be posting spoilers and news about Home and Away (Australian Pace)
Home and away had an eventful 2016 which saw the deaths of three characters: Oscar McGuire, Hannah Wilson and Atticus Decker. It also saw many of the memorable stunts including the Caravan explosion and the plane crash! It also showed some of the harrowing and heartbreaking storylines that Home and away fans won't be forgetting in a hurry, including: Chris coping in the aftermath of Hannah's death, Billie's rape and Olivia's horrendous bullying ordeal at the hands of Tabitha Ford. 2016 also tore away some of the couples e.g. Chris and Hannah, Evelyn and Josh etc. However it also brought new couples together: VJ and Billie, Kat and Ash and Phoebe and Justin. Another main storyline for 2016 was the arrival of the Morgan's and their witness protection secret which put their and countless other villagers lives in danger and eventually leading to the death of Atticus Decker but also brought in arrivals Hope Morrison and Raffy. The witness protection storyline eventually came to a head when Kat Chapman got involved and managed to help put leader of the drugs syndicate Ranae behind bars, until she got out and stabbed Justin Morgan in the explosive season final. 2016 ended with one final big shock as John Palmer was revealed as a dangerous serial arsonist, yes John Palmer. This leads the way into 2017 and it started with a bang as Hunter, Olivia, Mason, Phoebe, Zac, John, Marilyn, VJ, Billie, Evelyn and Matt were trapped in a terrifying bushfire! Fortunately, they all survived (At this point) but poor Marilyn was left with significant burns. Billie Ashford went into labour right in the middle of the bushfire and (Because this is a soap) her and VJ couldn't find help, fortunately they found help and Billie managed to give birth to her daughter Luc! Billie was unaware that she had inhaled a lot of smoke during the fire, this would lead to a devastating event as doctor Nate Cooper and Tori Morgan broke the news to her that she had an extremely aggressive type of cancer and only had days to live! VJ and Billie had a wedding and later on, she and VJ went to the beach, where Billie died in VJ's arms. Her final scenes aired on Wednesday 15th February 2017. Home and away has more drama lined up throughout the year.

Home and away has been doing a storyline since February about who should get custody of Luc Ashford, following the tragic demise of Billie Ashford. Three people went for custody: VJ Patterson, who was Billie's husband, who Billie wanted to have custody of Luc. Billie's brother Ash and Irene Roberts. Last month, VJ shook Luc's cot and threw a mug across the room because he was very stressed. Everyone thought that VJ would get custody, given that Billie wanted him to, but there was no record of this. Irene wanted to go for custody, mainly because she didn't want Ash to get care of Luc. Irene kindly offered to look after Luc whilst VJ focused on his studies. And Ash wanted custody because he was worried about Luc's welfare after hearing that VJ shook the cot and Irene didn't notice that Luc was sick. Can VJ save John from jail?

Monday night's episode will see John Palmer face court after starting the bushfire last December that led to the death of Billie Ashford. John was under the influence of a brain tumour and had no recollection of what he was doing, the tumour was successfully removed. Last month, we saw the return of Morag Bellingham, returning in the bay to defend John in court in the hope to spare him a jail sentence. He was previously urged to plead guilty and serve only two years or take the risk at the chance that he could be spared jail or go to jail for ten years! He decided to plead not guilty, much to the relief of his wife, Marilyn. However, the trial might not go as smoothly as they had hoped. The trial doesn't go that well at the start when Dr Bernice Chung takes the stand and protests that John fits the profile of a serial arsonist and is still a huge threat to the community. It's no secret that 2017 will see many fan favourites depart. But the question is: How will they be leaving? Below there are a bunch of theories and rumours that could explain there exits.
